Growing up I was involved in many different competitive sports and recreational activities. In high school I started to get into the gym and work a bit on my fitness however it was not until university that I started to love lifting. In 2017 I joined a powerlifting team in Edmonton and won gold medals in my first two meets. In May 2018 I was invited to the Canadian Elite Championships for 100% Raw Federation and finished with a 3rd place bronze making me 3/3 medaling in all competitions I have entered so far. In June 2018 I decided to expand and grow my business rebranding my personal training to AG Strength and Conditioning. Accomplishing feats and goals puts a sense of pride into an individual and my goal is to have you feeling as proud as possible by aiding you toward conquering those goals.
Hello My name is Lisa Lark. I’m employed at Chop Shop Physiques offering personal training. I’m also a regulated pharmacy technician! I’ve always had a interest in health specifically mind, body and soul. I’ve been physically active since my teens. In my teens I ran stairs, did sit-ups/pushups daily. I was obsessed with it because I thought I was over weight and a binge eater. I spent most of my adult life searching for what was going to work for me. I instructed classes, step aerobic and strength in my early twenties. From my mid 20’s through to my 50’s I participated mostly in running. What has inspired me to be a personal trainer was working with people who struggle to start or over come their fears about fitness. My goal is to help others with there mindset and relationship with food and physical fitness. I’ve learned through my life that mindset and how we perceive ourselves and the world around us will either lead to greatness or cripple us with fear. I choose greatness!
Growing up I was always a huge fan of athletics, but loved sports and being active so much I could never choose just one. Throughout high school I got involved in as many different sports and activities as possible, from soccer, rugby, and basketball, to wrestling, track and field, and hitting the weight room. My love for being an all around athlete finally led me to trying out the sport of obstacle racing in 2014 which completely changed my lifestyle. Since then I have competed in close to 100 different events including a couple world championship level events in 2017 and 2019. I initially took on the path of personal training, graduating from NAIT’s PFT program with honors in 2021, with the hopes of aiding myself in this very competitive sport, which quickly turned to me becoming a huge fan of coaching others. I now continue this path working towards some certifications through CSEP and Spartan Race to further increase my knowledge in the field of fitness and obstacle course racing.
